As a psychotherapist in Meath, I work with adults facing a wide range of difficulties. Below are some of the issues I support people with. If what you're experiencing isn't listed here, please still reach out.
Anxiety is more than everyday worry. When feelings of dread or panic become overwhelming, constant, or disconnected from what's actually happening, they can take over your life. Anxiety affects your self-esteem, relationships, work, and the choices you make. As an anxiety therapist in Meath, I can help you explore what's driving your anxiety and develop practical ways to manage and reduce it.
Depression isn't the same as feeling sad. It's a persistent heaviness that makes even small tasks feel impossible. You might lose interest in things you once enjoyed, feel constantly exhausted, or struggle to see a way forward. If you're experiencing five or more symptoms like low mood, changes in sleep, poor concentration, feelings of guilt, physical aches, or thoughts about not wanting to be here for two weeks or more, please reach out. Talking therapy provides a safe space to understand what's contributing to your depression and find ways to ease it.
Self-harm is often a way of coping with overwhelming emotional pain. It might bring temporary relief, but it becomes a dangerous pattern. If you're hurting yourself or thinking about suicide, I want you to know you don't have to face this alone. As a therapist in Meath with specialist training in suicide intervention, I provide support when hope feels lost. My goal is to help you find ways to bear the pain you're in and build a future that feels worth living.
Trauma happens when an experience overwhelms your ability to process it. It might be a single event like an accident or assault, or a pattern of abuse. Trauma can leave you feeling disconnected, constantly on edge, or unable to recall parts of your history clearly. Sometimes you just know something doesn't feel right but can't explain why. In therapy, we work carefully to help you process traumatic experiences at a pace that feels safe, allowing you to move towards greater wholeness.
Grief isn't just about death. It's the response to any significant loss: bereavement, separation, unemployment, illness, life changes. While grieving is natural, it can feel endless and isolating. The different stages of grief can be difficult to navigate alone. I provide a compassionate space where you can express the complex emotions that arise during loss and find ways to move through them.
Living with chronic illness affects every part of your life. It changes how you see yourself, your relationships, your future. I have a particular interest in supporting people affected by chronic conditions, including BRCA gene carriers. Through my specialist training with HIV Ireland, I understand the psychological impact of living with ongoing health challenges. Therapy offers space to process the grief, fear, and adjustment that comes with chronic illness.
Questions about who you are, your gender, or your sexuality can bring confusion, shame, or discomfort. Discovering your authentic self is a lifelong journey, and it's not always straightforward. I work sensitively with people exploring their identity and sexuality, creating a space free from judgement where you can figure out who you truly are.
Low self-esteem shows up as harsh internal criticism and negative beliefs about yourself. It holds you back from opportunities and relationships. Through therapy, we can identify those negative belief systems, challenge the critical voice in your head, and build a more realistic and compassionate view of who you are.
Relationship problems affect your emotional wellbeing and create ongoing stress. Whether it's conflict with a partner, family dynamics, or patterns that keep repeating, these difficulties can contribute to anxiety and depression. I help you understand what's happening in your relationships and work towards solutions that feel right for you.
If what you're struggling with feels too difficult to carry alone, let's talk about it.
