Putting the pieces back together

Finding Support When Life Feels Overwhelming

Perhaps you’ve been living with anxiety for months. Maybe depression has made even the simplest tasks feel impossible. You might be experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or of not wanting to be here anymore. Whatever has brought you to this point, please know this: your pain is real, and support is available.

Taking the step to look for help is an act of courage — and it’s the first step toward change. You don’t have to face what you’re going through alone.

Helping you find your way forward

I’m Catherine, an integrative psychotherapist working with adults across Meath and throughout Ireland, offering online and walk and talk therapy. In the near future, I will also be providing face-to-face counselling in Bettystown, Co. Meath.

I combine person-centred, psychodynamic, and existential approaches because I believe there’s no single path through emotional pain. Every client’s story is different, and therapy should reflect that.

I’m an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and hold a BA (Honours) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Whether you need short-term support through a difficult period or want to explore deeper patterns and experiences, I work at your pace.

How Therapy Can Help You

Talking to someone outside your situation can shift things in ways you might not expect. Therapy isn’t about being told what to do — it’s about having space to make sense of your thoughts and feelings safely, with someone who will truly listen.

When you can speak your truth without fear of judgement, something begins to change. The load you’ve been carrying feels lighter, and you start to see patterns that were previously hidden. Together, we work towards understanding, healing, and growth.

A Safe and Confidential Space

I offer a warm, compassionate, and confidential environment where you can speak freely. My humanistic approach means I believe you already have the capacity for change within you; my role is to help you uncover it. By integrating existential and psychodynamic principles, we can explore themes of meaning, identity, and the unconscious influences shaping your life. I also work creatively, drawing on art therapy and other expressive methods when words aren’t enough.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Some people find sitting face to face indoors overwhelming. If that's you, we can meet outside instead. Walk and Talk therapy combines the grounding effects of nature with the reflective space of counselling. Walking side by side often makes it easier to open up, and the rhythm of movement helps thoughts flow naturally.

Walk and Talk therapy is a relaxed, slow-paced walk, usually along quiet routes like the Bettystown-Laytown coastal area, while we engage in therapy. Sessions follow the same professional standards as indoor counselling, including confidentiality and clear boundaries. If the weather's poor, we can move online instead.

Issues I Can Help With

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicide ideation, trauma, grief and bereavement, and the challenges of living with chronic illness, including BRCA gene carriers. I also support people struggling with low self-esteem and confidence, relationship difficulties, questions around identity and sexuality, and life transitions and loss. If you're struggling with something not listed here, please still get in touch. I'm here to listen to whatever you're carrying.
