Catherine Finlay

Catherine herself has a history of anxiety and depression which she experienced for a number of years before overcoming it.  She now makes use of her personal experience and her theoretical experience to help others construct important positive changes in their lives. Catherine believes in the power of the therapeutic relationships as an invaluable platform for change and growth.

She works from a humanistic perspective incorporating both Existential and Psychodynamic principles in a creative approach. She provides a space were clients feel safe enough to access their own potential and has a special interest in working with anxiety and depression as well those who have been affected by chronic illnesses including Brac gene carriers. She adopts a holistic approach and has also completed various training in art therapy as well as additional training with HIV Ireland.

Catherine has experience working in a number of centres and in working with a wide range of presenting issues including; Anxiety, Depression, trauma, low self esteem, sexuality issues, bereavement, couples (relationship issues), and nearing end of life issues.
